How long does it take to change the brake pads
The braking system of a car is a solid and safe component if it is well looked after. Your safety and your loved ones depend on the correct functioning of this system. The weakest link in the braking system is the brake pads (what are theyI wrote here). They are subject to increased wear during braking, so they need to be monitored and replaced in time. For more insights jump to: How Long Do Brake Pads Last?
Of course, many motorists will say that it is necessary to change the brake pads for wear, when the first signals are already coming out (there will be a separate article about this) and they are right about something. However, as the manufacturers themselves assure, the pads need to be changed after a certain period of time, this is how you can achieve - long service life of the brake disc and good performance of the car's braking system.
I myself changed the pads for wear before, and probably I will change them this way, but the manufacturer's information is there and it should be taken into service.
So, as I already wrote, the pads are divided into front (mostly disc) and rear (mostly drum)... Front disc pads take the brunt of braking. Therefore, they are changed more often.
On the advice of domestic manufacturers, our VAZ pads need to be changed: front pads every 15 - 20,000 kilometers, rear pads every 70 - 80,000 kilometers.

On imported cars, the replacement period is slightly increased, the materials in the working surface are more durable, which gives an increased service life. On average, the front pads travel 30 - 35,000 kilometers, the rear ones - 100 - 120,000 kilometers.
In fact, the rear pads may last for a very long time, I did not change the pads on FORD FUSION for 150,000 kilometers, so I sold it with them. But the front ones are desirable to watch and change more often.
And yes guys, the owners do not always put the original pads in the front, because of the high cost! BUT this is twofold - on the one hand, you save significant money, on the other hand, non-original pads run two times less than the originals, and it is still not clear how they act on brake discs.
A worn-out disc - HARD!
It's another matter if you buy originals not from a dealer, but from another specialized store, where the difference will not be so significant. You can take the originals! Will run longer, tested on several cars.
